Description
In Film, Innovation & the Feminine Future, Katie McIntyre explores how filmmaking, visual effects, emerging technology, and contemporary art can come together to create new cultural visions of the future.
Drawing from her evolution from designer to 3D/VFX artist, director, creative director, and live-show director, Katie will reveal how her practice moves between traditional filmmaking, complex visual-effects systems, monumental performance imagery, innovative couture, and industrial design. She will also examine how different cultural and social ideas of futurism shape the images we create—and how art movements, fashion, architecture, and feminine visual languages are influencing the next generation of film and VFX.
Through a case study of her recent Adobe film, Katie will demonstrate how artists can use artificial intelligence to expand imagination and accelerate experimentation without sacrificing authorship, originality, or hand-built creative craft. The talk ultimately proposes a more expressive and human vision of technological progress: one in which innovation strengthens the artist’s voice rather than replacing it
