4. Account Registration and Timezone Settings
You must create an account to access THU Platform services. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep this information up to date. THU Platform shall not be liable for incorrect registration or incorrect registration details. The registration and provision of all details for this purpose is the sole responsibility of the User.
Important note: set the timezone to your current location before browsing opportunities.
5. Services Provided
The Platform acts solely as an intermediary between Mentors and Mentees, providing the digital infrastructure for announcements, scheduling, communication, and payments. The Platform does not guarantee any specific outcomes or satisfaction from mentorship sessions. All sessions are conducted live via video conferencing.
Sessions are conducted live via the Platform’s video call tool, with integrated chat. Sessions may only be recorded with the prior knowledge and explicit consent of the Mentee. Any approved recordings will be used solely for promotional, educational, or quality assurance purposes and will not be shared publicly without the Mentee’s consent.
6. Terms for Mentees
6.1 Purchasing a slot
Mentees can explore available paid mentorship sessions via the “Skill hub” menu, under the "Mentorship"sub-menu, or within specific thematic spaces. To view details and time availability, Mentees should access the full description of each mentorship offer.
When You select a time slot, it becomes temporarily pre-reserved for You. To confirm and secure the booking, payment must be completed within 1 hour of selecting the slot.
If payment is not completed within this time frame, the pre-reserved slot will be automatically released and made available to other Users.
Once payment is successfully processed:
- Your selected slot becomes confirmed - view and join it later, under your account in the My Schedule menu.
- It also automatically generates an approved application, accessible under your account in the Applications > Approved Applications section.
The Mentee is solely responsible for verifying the Mentor’s availability and selecting an appropriate time before purchase. The Platform is not responsible for any scheduling conflicts or misalignments resulting from failure to confirm availability prior to booking. The mentee should set up the timezone preferences before choosing a time.
6.2 Pricing and VAT
The total amount charged for the purchase of a mentorship includes the mentorship price, applicable transaction fees (always applied), and VAT (when applicable).
Important Notes:
- A fee of 4% is added to the mentorship price to cover transaction costs.
- The total amount presented may vary depending on whether the mentee is located inside or outside the European Union, as this affects the VAT applied.
- Value Added Tax (VAT) will be applied additionally, based on the Mentee’s billing address, in accordance with applicable tax regulations.
- VAT is applied to both the mentorship price and the transaction fee, when applicable.
Amount charged to the mentee
Example 1: With VAT (Mentee in the EU)
Mentorship price: €100
Transaction fee (4%): €4.00
VAT 23% (applied to both mentorship price and transaction fee): €23.92
Total charged to the mentee: €100 + €4.00 + €23,92 = €127.92
Example 2: Without VAT (Mentee outside the EU)
Mentorship price: €100
Transaction fee (4%): €4.00
VAT: €0
Total charged to the mentee: €100 + €4.00 = €125.00
6.3 Cancellations and Refunds:
- By purchasing a mentorship, the Mentee expressly waives the right to cancel or request a refund once the session has been scheduled, as the intermediation service is considered fully executed at that point, unless the Mentor cancels the session, in which case the Mentee will receive a full refund.
- If a Mentor cancels or fails to attend a scheduled session without providing a timely alternative, the Mentee will receive a full refund.
- The Mentee selects the session’s date and time at the time of purchase. If the session is later unscheduled, rescheduling will depend on the Mentor’s availability and is not guaranteed. Please note that refunds will not be issued for unscheduled sessions.
- If the Mentee terminates or discontinues a multiple-session mentorship, no partial refund will be issued for any remaining sessions.
- Refunds will not be issued if the Mentee fails to set their correct time zone prior to booking a session, resulting in a scheduling error or missed appointment.
6.4 Right of Withdrawal:
- In accordance with EU consumer protection law, the right of withdrawal may be waived by the parties for the provision of services that include a payment obligation when the following conditions are met:
i) The services have been fully performed after the consumer's explicit prior consent; and
ii) The consumer acknowledges that they will lose their right of withdrawal once the contract has been fully executed.
- By accepting these Terms and Conditions, You expressly authorize THU to fully provide the contracted services. You acknowledge and agree that as a result of the full performance of the services, you lose your right of withdrawal from the contract, as it will be considered fully executed.
6.5 Rescheduling by Mentee:
Mentees may attempt to reschedule, subject to the Mentor's availability. Rescheduling must be done at least 1 hour before the session. No refund is provided if an alternative slot is not available.
