Never do the same thing twice

Description

For many years I was oblivious to procedural workflows and spent hours mindlessly doing repetitive tasks. But once I discovered it, I never went back to doing the same thing twice. I learnt that automating workflow, making tools and learning programming is not just for technical people (I never considered being one!) or big teams working on complex projects. It’s simply a language that the computer understands. Learning even just a little bit of it can make communication with it so much easier. And gives me more time to be creative! In this talk I would like to introduce you to procedural mindset. How to get started and what are the benefits to it. It doesn’t matter what you do and what software you use as long as you are using a computer to do your work, you can apply this to your workflow. However, since I have experience mostly with Houdini, it might get 3D heavy! Topics covered will include: Why is it worth learning and how creative person can benefit from it How to identify tasks that can be done in procedural way Ideas for first simple tools to improve general workflow Examples of software focusing on procedural workflow How to get started with programming Building an automated framework that works for you This talk is dedicated to those having no experience and it is very beginner friendly. And freelancers and independent creators will benefit most. So, if you wanted to dive into the procedural approach to work, but it seemed overwhelming and didn’t know where to start - this talk is for you!
