Project Description

My project is a virtual platform that offers mentorship programs to artists all over Africa for free and opportunities to create original projects on the platform. The goal is to teach artists as we develop our own projects while mentoring them. We already have two main projects we wants to develop. The first is a web-comic that will be displayed on the platform Showcase Africa App. Its story revolves around the hardships that children living on the street in Senegal experience. So many people are misinformed about those kids and the reason why they ended up on the street. We also want to help associations that fight against that phenomenon raise funds. The second project is focused on creating animated African nursery rhymes. In Africa, many scholar systems reject and forbid kids from speaking their own native languages and pushes them to be ashamed of their own heritage. Coupled with that, the lack of accurate representation of African societies in the media causes the children to forget and lose their roots. I choose a format I call Cinematic Web-comic for our first project It'll be more cinematic panels that plays like an animatic It's basically a mix between storyboard and comic book. for the nursery rhymes we plan to have a mix medias technique by using 2d and 3d we also wants to create original music that represent well the African oral culture. The platform it self works like an online studio were we teach artist and they learn by working on our own projects.
