Project Description

The project is an allegorical retelling of the past 300 years of my home, the unknown mountains of Caucasus, in an experimental animated series format. The Caucasus is one of the most culturally diverse places in the world that has not really been represented internationally. It has gone through many tough wars and neighboring aggressions, but the recent oppressions are bringing it closer to destruction. I want to tell the world about it, share the ancient beauty of the place, and what it has been through. The project is a stylized 3D animated mixed media series, particularly, a mixture of real-life footage, 2D, with 3D being the lead. To say simply, if Arcane and Avant-garde had a baby in the mountains. The characters will be 3D, the effects 2D, and some scenes and backgrounds will be real-life footage. 3D is the best way to manage and portray the complex beauty of the cultures with proper patterns on clothing and dances, and also to blend it with scenes of real-life choreographies. This experimental series will revive the avant-garde with modern technology. I want to tell stories through immersive footages and sounds that make you feel the story on a deeper spiritual level instead of just being eye candy, for instance, in some scenes real-life recorded theater performances will be used just by themselves. We will be utilizing every available resource, such as historical archives with the footages of war, old dances, and life of the Caucasus.
