Touching up some final elements, some colour corrects. I also scaled down the spacestation slightly to give it more space and to get a better sense of the scale.

Making good progress, Colours and most of the lighting is done, Next will be some detail work and colour corrects. I'm trying to clearly define a difference in back, middle and foreground by the amount of detail and the rendering of the lighting, with harder, more cellshaded characters, compared to the spacestation or the planet.

The work on the final piece has started, I began with the background. Working out the lighting and colours. I want the piece to have some small graphical elements to it, so I played around with the shape of some stars and the lighting on the moon.

A quick value sketch to help me with the focus of the piece, and tweek some stuff to beter guide the viewer. Still working out all the elements. 

Moved on to putting down some colours, trying to find the right fell for it all, not quite there yet :P But I like the idea of the flowers glowing or being a lightsource themselves.

After choosing a design for the spacestation and a composition sketch that worked I moved on to actually making a complete sketch for the illustration. Things are coming together! I addeda sense of depth with overlapping elements like the character in the foregrounds hand and the spacestation, the character with the camera and the moon and the spaceship and earth.

I started with some quick concepts based on different flowers but with generally the same shape to match the composition sketch. Trying to find a balance between the plant elements, technology elements and looking for an intersting plant shape.
