Finally I added the words like you'd see in a VR game menu.
But I wasn't really feeling the composition. So I decided to go in a different route.
Maintaining the same original idea I thought I could do a simpler composition since I was running out of time at this point.
I thought I'd show just one kid in a VR set looking at her own future and trying to choose what to be when she grows up, again showing that with the help of technology anything is possible.
I decided to compose my image as a character selection menu in a game.
At first I thought of showing some kids in a VR set and then the image transitions into a new unexplored world where they are transformed into different characters. This would be to show that the kids are our future and with G technolody anything is possible.
I used Unreal to do a quick composition of my ideas and the I took some screenshots and did some photobash in photoshop.
Hey guys!
First wip imageThe theme of this challenge really hit home with me from he beginning but I wanted to approach it from a different perspective. This is a super rough sketch of the idea.
We are right in the middle of a global climate crisis and the choices we make every day today will have an impact on the future of our planet. Waiting for breakthrough technologies is great, but we all have the power to be the Agents of Change - appreciating the beauty of our Mother Earth and doing our part to help preserve it.
The change begins with us. Let's unite before it's too late.
Ok, let's get the party (or rehersal) started. We had the stage here, the musicians are going to connect and go live in a bit, everyone is at their country, tunning their instruments, warming up and preparing the setlists. In the meantime, let's add some textures, colors and wait for them with a the nicest layout posible!
Hello, I have just submitted my picture! Thought I'd share my 3D workspace (in Blender) as well, sometimes it feels even more theatrical and fun than the final picture I manage to wring out of it.
You can see it is VERY tailored to the drawn composition... things stop working / break apart / go missing with even the slightest camera shift. But that's the most fun bit in composing based on a 2D-drawing ;)
Feels done.
Changes and decisions since the first draft: I changed the perspective from very birds's-eye to more of an elevational axonometric - so that I can better demonstrate architecture and design instead of trying to impress the eye with perspectival tricks. The same reasoning goes behind putting the foreground section very close to the camera to show two scales in the same shot.
The hot-air balloons in the end really helped demonstrating this scale shift... with one of them up close and all the rest far in the distance.
Not so sure if the 'story' comes out well, but this is essentially about a kid remotely fixing a broken balloon whilst a friend flies over to relay the news (which the protagonist obvisously already knows because - they've got hyper-speed connection... tada.)
The few trails of smoke on the hot-air balloon and the vehicle also help a bit to tie the composition together and to suggest some sort of movement in guiding the viewer around the picture, hopefully.
Anyway thank you for following, it's been a great imaginative journey. xd
