3D Model Background and Final Sketches
My idea is set and I can start working on my illustration.
My Personal Oasis is me taking a photo of my memories in my University Room.
First I wanted to take care of the background, in other words, the room. I have many photos of it, filled and empty, in many angles too, however, my mind can't picture it in the angle I want. So, I used one of my many skills and 3D modeled the room.
In case you wonder, everything was modeled by me. The 3D model room and props didn't need to be perfect, they just needed to help me figure out the best angle for my fish eye view. I tried to correct the overlapping faces that appeared in the render, but some of them escaped.
I pick the render from the top, centered top view. It allowed me to draw all the memories without having them overlap so much, like I studied in my thumbnails.
Now, I can work over the render and get a clean lined background.
Despite enjoying the idea of polaroid frames, I wasn't liking the way they looked on the drawing - they covered too much area and the composition didn't look balanced.
I tried fixing the frames, but the memories wouldn't align with them. So, I got rid of them and decided to draw everything. Once I was satisfied, I started lining the drawing.
