Project Description

My process was to capture the feel of a midday summer day with nothing to do, like total freedom within a cozy place.
Most items on the island are based on old childhood items I had or interacted with. The floating fish were inspired by the wonder i felt when I stared at my grandmother's goldfish and felt a sudden need to draw creatures. I drew the main draft digitally, flipping the image to balance it properly. I inked with a Gnib to achieve real texture, and interesting mistakes. Created the main shadows and color digitally, in that order.
