Been some rocky days when everything around me feels so uncertain. Working on this is reminding me we should work on our personal safe haven more carefully. And keep expanding it. 

What if the oasis within us needs to be cultivated? Expanded? Maybe our mindfulness could be protecting us from the dry, harsh reality surrounding us.

An OASIS is rooted in contrast. A beautiful clear water lake, surrounded by tall trees and green wilderness, against the dry, never-ending desert. 

I can't think of a tangible oasis where we can escape to. It feels wrong to do so when refuge spaces are being invaded as we breathe. But maybe there's an intangible safe haven, within us, that allows us to feel at peace and safe in ourselves, regardless of the outside world.
