  • Middle class motorbike almost done

At this point, it is nearly finished. It just needs a little bit of final touches here and there.

  • Middle class motorbikes wip inking

I was enjoying the shapes that were coming up and the patterns especially. It gave me chills to create. It made me connect with ink and pen.

  • Middle class motorbikes wip

unfortunately, I didn't capture the process of penciling this, but I paused here and took a picture, and continued the next day to steer it to finish. I liked it a lot, especially the composition.

At this stage, the artwork is at the inking stage. I'm yet to add a full wash and call it finished but it's going okay so far.

  • WIP 1

After some brainstorming, I came up with a couple of ideas for the story, involving a precious brain-shaped element within a decadent atmosphere. I would like to depict the contrast between a doomed environment and the rich, prosperous and creative inner human mind.

I have decided to use a central composition to really draw attention to the key element, thanks to some thumbnailing and value studies. Additionally, I have done some facial expression sketching to capture the outer mood and the shape of the key element

  • Value Sketch

Value sketch to make sketch 4 a bit more solid. The main change to the image is that now I'm showing this is a closed space, and I've given less importance to the "house".

  • Fifth sketch

I tried to mix what had worked well in the other sketches in this one. I really like how private and unique this place seems to be, but I'm struggling a bit with this composition - the narrative is not so clear. Next week I'll update a Wip of the chosen sketch.

  • Sketches and Refs

I have a strong relationship with music, and it’s my oasis. So, I’m trying to express that feeling in these thumbnails.

  • Fourth sketch

After going a bit of the theme in the third sketch, I decided do something more obvious when drawing an oasis. A desert like place around, and the character is lying down in this green oasis, chilling and playing with the creatures there. I also brought the robots from the 4th image, and it worked really well with this weird rounded office/house to make a good mix of futuristic roots. I'm still finishing up a 5th sketch in which I'll try to mix what worked in these four, but for now this image seems the strongest to me. Although sketch 1 is still a good possibility

  • Third sketch

For this third sketch, I decided to continue exploring a way to turn this idea into something more futuristic. An oasis also represents a place of fertile grounds, and I felt like a kitchen would be something interesting to explore. Although I like this sketch, I feel its a bit of the theme. But I love the small functional robots. They bring an interesting way to show what I wanted.

  • Second sketch

When starting out this sketch, I wanted to integrate the word futuristic into my ideas. I felt my first sketch was too much "roots" and too little "future". So I decided to do a working creative place where you could hide and chill, with a bit more of a futuristic structure to it. The idea of water all around, like an aquarium could also fit in that context.

  • First Sketch

For this first idea I wanted to depict that feeling of chilling in a swing hammock and looking at the night sky, something I love to do. The place should to feel wide and connected to my "roots" - plants, books, painting supplies - all of that scattered across the oasis. I provided it with lots os plants and fantastical creatures to bring life to it, trying to make the oasis feel more alive.

  • First Ideation

A small word web to start my creative process! After figuring out what the core is of my Oasis. I decided to write down what I wanted to show in the final image.

''A forest with beings who share their knowledge and conviviality. The central character is a wise and loving tree man who enjoys telling stories of old. He symbolizes the masters who inspire me to grow as a person and artist.''

  • Update

Been some rocky days when everything around me feels so uncertain. Working on this is reminding me we should work on our personal safe haven more carefully. And keep expanding it.

Feels like I'm getting close to my vision. I think the bubbles are a bit too much yet. I'm doing another version in which they will be more ephemeral!
