A professional journey often isn’t a straightforward line. Sometimes, we have a hard time getting started, sometimes, we get stuck, and sometimes, we stand in our own way with fear and unfounded concern. At one point, we are also in charge of other people, and leadership presents its own set of issues. We might need some help thinking through our responsibilities and how to best create the most engaging, creative environment for others.

Our Industry Advisory Council designed this program to help provide a forum to discuss your situation and provide a sounding board, insights, advice, and the support you might need to succeed professionally or get through a particular situation so you might be better equipped or more confident to embark on the next part of your journey.

 

What?

Every session consists of a 1-hour meeting with accomplished industry professionals during which you will expose a particular situation, issue, or concern. Together, we will discuss your situation, and provide advice and perspective to help you find your way forward.

 

For whom:

This program is conceived for everyone, whether you are just starting your professional journey or are already an accomplished professional. It is for anyone, regardless of age or horizons, who wants to progress, gain confidence, or realize their projects.

 

Why?

Articulating your situation and obtaining an outside perspective can be a valuable tool to tackle a variety of situations.

Rules of engagement

To engage in an effective experience, it is essential that you clearly establish your goals and the issues you would like to discuss by submitting them in advance.

During the conversation, stick to your objective and be receptive to any feedback you might receive. Keep an open and positive mindset, and be honest; dare to express your opinions and perspectives honestly.

Please don’t wait for the mentor to set the agenda for the conversation flow of the meeting. Don’t talk about inappropriate subjects or reveal any confidential or privileged information.

Also, don’t expect the mentor to have all the answers or solve your problems. He/she is here to provide a sounding board and perspective, not to resolve or make recommendations.
