Description

Build one portfolio-quality character with an experienced AAA lead guiding you through every stage.

I'm a character artist and art director with 20+ years in AAA development and 13 shipped titles, including the Wolfenstein franchise, Helldivers II, and Just Cause. I've guided characters from first sketch to shipped asset more times than I can count, and mentored artists through exactly this journey.

Over four sessions, we take your character from plan to finished, presented portfolio piece. This is not a course with fixed lessons. It's your project, your pace, with structured guidance at the moments that matter most.

How the sessions are typically structured:

  1. Planning and blockout: concept and reference breakdown, scope, technical plan (texture sets, budgets, pipeline), and blockout review so the foundation is right
  2. Sculpt and detail: anatomy, forms, likeness, clothing and hard-surface detailing, and solving the problems that surface along the way
  3. Topology, textures, and materials: retopo strategy, baking, texture work, and getting the materials reading correctly
  4. Presentation and polish: posing, lighting, rendering, and how to present the piece so it actually gets you interviews

We adapt the structure to your project and your pace. You work between sessions; I make sure the work is always pointed in the right direction.

What you'll gain:

  • A finished, portfolio-quality character piece
  • Production habits and decision-making you'll reuse on every character after this one
  • Honest feedback at every stage, before mistakes get expensive
  • A written follow-up after each session with the feedback and your next steps

What to prepare for the first session:

  • Your concept or character idea (or a shortlist you're choosing between)
  • Reference material you've gathered
  • A link to your current portfolio, so I understand where this piece fits and what it needs to prove

Who this is for:

Character artists at student, junior, or mid level who are serious about producing a piece that raises their portfolio's ceiling, and who can put in the work between sessions. If you've got the drive and want experienced direction so the effort lands, this is that structure.

Four hours of one-on-one guidance, spread across your production at the stages where it matters most.
