My name is Yasmin, I'm a 24 years old 2D digital artist based in São Paulo Brazil. I've always drawn and created art, but only in 2019 I restarted my drawing studies to become a professional. Since then, I've been through many courses, first from Domestika, including Fantasy Portraits with Adobe Photoshop by Karmen Loh and Adobe Photoshop for Concept art by Nacho Yague. I developed a great ability using Photoshop thanks to these courses, which is comprised in my portfolio at: https://yasmintlg.artstation.com/. In December of 2019, I started writing my very first personal project for a graphic novel, a story about a trio of magical girls, not just because is one of my favorite genres of animation, but I wanted to create a trio of black magical girls, so I started a massive search for references about my ancestrality not just as a black woman but as a Latin woman, all for developing this project, and I'm still working hard till today. And more, in 2020 I become a scholarship student at Revolution School and Quanta Academia de Artes, both two of the most excellent art schools in the southwest region of my country. In there I'm improving my fundamentals and learning concept art. In March of 2021, NUBAS School from Bahia held what I consider two of the most important courses for my personal project and for my career at all: Art direction: Concepts and inspirations between Africa and diaspora with Rogi Silva and Character design: Black aesthetic in animation with Iasio Neris. Both courses helped me a lot to develop authentic and diverse character designs, with original narratives and great references in my portfolio.
