I am excited about the prospect of joining the Career Camp as I continue my journey to elevate my technical finesse, entrepreneurial knowledge, and network within the film industry.

My lifelong dream is to be a storyteller, and filmmaking offers me the ideal canvas for exploring visual and auditory storytelling. However, resource constraints have often hindered my ability to reach the level of proficiency I desire. Last year, I undertook an internship with Yoyo Group SA, a fintech company in Brooklyn, Cape Town, while remotely completing my film diploma.

This experience exposed me to the corporate application of filmmaking in marketing. I started as a marketing intern, contributing to brand awareness through the activation of Yoyo's loyalty app. Later, I transitioned to the production team, assisting the camera and editing departments, which pushed me out of my comfort zone.

Currently, I am maximizing my available resources. I am honing my skills in digital design on Canva and creating a Tumblr blog advocating for mental health awareness, a topic close to my heart as an anxiety sufferer.

I also share my journey as a Tswana-Black-South African woman on Medium, exploring my unique voice cultivated since the age of 10. It has been my constant companion through life's challenges, including losing both parents by the age of 20.

Joining the Career Camp would be a remarkable opportunity to expand my horizons. I believe artists play a pivotal role in shaping the future of African giants, inspiring wonder and a hunger for compelling narratives.
