Cinematography
Visual Storytelling
I'm Sungyoun Kim, a story artist based in San Francisco
Biography
I visualize conflicts, emotions, and relationships through cinematic language and drawing skills. Every staging, composition, and cinematography are thoughtfully chosen in purpose to tell a story. I have a strong passion for not only entertaining the audience but also encouraging and inspiring them. Not limiting storytelling on style or technology is the challenge I am willing to take every time.
My inspiration comes from classic film directors such as Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg, and Hayao Miyazaki. By studying frame by frame of their movies, I learn how to use cinematic languages to create nonverbal interaction between the director and the audience.
