Sabina Gaudiano (she/they) is a Stop Motion, 2D, & Experimental Animation major at the New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Their work is inspired my the macabre, curious, odd, and unconventionally beautiful sights that the world around them has to offer. Her interest in animation was sparked during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and the work of artists such as Dana Terrace, Alex Hirsch, Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino inspired her to pursue it as a profession, changing her university application last-minute to better fit her desire to study animation. They didn’t pursue stop-motion animation until Fall 2022, but quickly fell in love with the medium. Soon after, she began development on her own stop-motion short film, “Friends in the Walls,” which follows a young girl sent to a dreadful boarding school where she befriends a curious demon living in the bathroom. Their film is currently in pre-production and hopes to begin production in early December. Sabina has also served as an Art Director and Art Assistant on two student films and hopes to reprise these roles in the near future.
