Biography
At an early age I discovered a love of drawing and early report cards are littered with comments from teachers stating that the margins of my spelling tests and homework did not always contain the right answers, but were always fully illustrated. Early on I fell in love with film - especially the Disney animated features created during the Golden Age of Animation (1930 - 1950) and the films of Ray Harryhausen. The idea of turning pen and ink or a hunk of clay into something that created an emotional response from an audience drew me in and has held my interest ever since. After years as a maquette sculptor at Hanna-Barbera Cartoons I turned to the digital side of image creation and joined Sony Pictures Imageworks where I was first a CG modeler (#nurbsforever) but soon went over to the Dark Side (studio management). It was during my time as SPI's Director of Animation Production that I found a passion for matching talent to role and made recruiting my primary career focus. This marks my 30th year in Animation/VFX - I am still as passionate about these remarkable areas now as I was as a kid staring at a screen.
