Well, I don't normally write these... I'm an aspiring artist that loves to draw colourful characters! I was born in South Africa in the late 80's. Moved to the UK with my family in '99 and spent the next 13 years skateboarding, parkouring, bouldering, and painting my way through school and university where I studied computer games design at the University of Wales. University took a lot out of me, and I spent a few years away from the canvas to explore the world. I have been fortunate enough to travel and meet amazing people along the way while getting to see some awe-inspiring sights, such as the Drakensberg mountain range, as well as climbing table mountain in Cape Town. A few years ago, I rediscovered my passion for creating art and have been dedicating myself to improving my skills and re-learning the fundamentals! I've become a bit of an art-dork and spend the majority of my time on that! I have had a wide variety of experiences outside of art that I would never trade away, but now, my primary objective in life is to join the games industry and contribute to an industry that has expanded my imagination since I was 4 years old playing on my older brother's Famicom (I never did find out how we had a Famicom all the way in South Africa, but I'm glad we did!) Since those days, gaming has been a wonderful hobby that has brought me closer to some of the most engaging and imaginative people! Many lifelong friendships were forged through the highs and lows of exploring imaginary worlds on the couch with friends, be it co-op or competitive, these have been the friendships that have stuck with me through the years. My main objective in joining the industry, is to make games that I can share with my nieces and nephews that will inspire them to be inquisitive, compassionate, and fearless in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. In my adult life, the games that have left the most impact on me are the ones that re-ignite the sense of cooperation and comradery that made me fall in love with games in the first place. My personal higlights have been: Left 4 Dead, Rocket League, Overwatch, Overcooked, and almost any 2d brawler like Streets of rage 4 and River City ransom: Underground. I aspire to be a concept/ 2D artist, creating games that you can sit down on a friday night with your buddies and go absolutely ham on until the sun comes up on Saturday morning. Lightning round random facts: - I love 90's Ska music, parrticularly Reel big fish for their irreverent songwriting towards topics like love, ambition, cynicism and success. - Animals love me, I don't know the source of my powers, but within 5 minutes we will be the best of friends. - I can poke out my shoulder blades quite far (I'm the youngest of...many, I needed a party trick to stand out!) - I am left handed (some might say this makes me better. I wouldn't, but I will let them continue to think so) - I learned how to take my hands over my head from behind my back without letting go on a random afternoon - I make a damn good spaghetti bolognaise - I aspire to completing a marathon obstacle course such iron man or I have reached my capacity to talk about myself unprompted.
