Biography
Raki Sy is an illustrator born and raised in Senegal. She received her BFA in Illustration at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her work can be identified through its eerie and otherworldly qualities, along with its versatility when it comes to style. Being a long-time fan of fantasy, horror and the dramatic quality of film scores, she attempts to make her work as cinematic as possible to reflect that.
After completing her BFA in Illustration in 2020, she started a freelance illustration career while trying to land a character designer position in animation. Along the way she also developed a strong interest for movie posters art, cover art and entertainment art in general.
Some of her clients include: Fiyah Literary Magazine, Serious Pens Publishing, YUX Design, Immobilier de Montagne and Orabank. She actively seeks to create more narrative-focused illustrations.
