My name is Rafaela and I’m a children’s book illustrator based in Brazil. I began my career working in graphic design, as that was what I got my bachelor’s on (by the Belas Artes University in São Paulo) but soon after leaving school in 2016 I fell in love with books and illustration and haven’t looked back.

The love I have for children’s books, has a special place in my heart. The chance to make them laugh and fall in love with color and art through story, has been a mission of mine for very long. Introducing humor and quirky characters is something I try to do as often as possible. 

Having lived abroad for 7 years (4 years in Switzerland and 3 years in Mexico) I am comfortable communicating in english, spanish and portuguese.

When I’m not working you can find me with my fiancé and my three grumpy cats drinking coffee and watching cartoons.
