Biography
I am Pooja Pallavi Achudanandan, born in India. I spent my teenage years in California, exploring with my sisters. I got an interest in animation and VFX while visiting Disney, Warner Bros., and Fox Studios in 2009.
Then to pursue my career path, I did an undergraduate degree in Visual Communication with VFX as a major and worked in 15 short films as an actor and voiceover artist.
Joined a 5-year PG program in RUBIKA, India, in 2014 for a masters in the direction of animation. I have learned and practiced many art forms; I was very good at clay modeling and stop-motion animation.
In my third year, I applied for internships at MPC Films India. MPC was impressed by my student portfolio and personal works; they have offered a 3D modeling job, so I discontinued my masters and grabbed the opportunity to gain experience like working with experts in the industry and studying the work flows.
After 1 month of training, my first project is to retopologize and model the 3-headed dragon Ghidorah, the main villain creature in the Godzilla: The King of Monsters movie in 2019. and followed by lots of LodA plus hero assets like the character model, concept model of space ships, costume, and environments in the following movies.
Aquaman 2018, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (2018) Dark Phoenix 2019, Sonic the Hedgehog 2019, Maleficent 2 2019, Dolittle 2020, Call of the Wild 2020, and my favorite proud project is the 1917 movie, which won an Oscar for vxf in 2019.
While working in MPC, I was selected for facial blendshape for a 6-month project of FIFA gaming technicolor.
In 2021, the COVID pandemic I got laid off from MPC Films, but since I previously worked for Technicolor Gaming, the leads and supervisors liked my work and gave me a job offer, but as a junior artist because I am a newcomer to gaming (which I was not aware of how my years of experience would affect by changing from movie to gaming).
Worked as a blendshape artist and character texture artist in Call of Duty: Grand Theft Auto.
After working for a year in gaming, I wanted to go back and work for movies, so I joined Outpost VFX in 2022 as a mid-level modeling artist. Now I am practicing myself in Marveous Designer and Maari, as well as aftereffects projects, as a hobby.
