Biography
Born and raised in the south-east of Brazil, I'm a "joyful-but-sometimes-grumpy" 25 years old, who grew watching cartoons and animated movies, building my own unique stories and universe, using toys, a pen and a soft paper notebook ever since I was 7.
Single son and raised by divorced but lovely and caring parents, I have had childhood filled with privileges inside home, but was quite introvert and had a quite rough time when I had to interact with other kids that wasn't my cousins or neighbors. Giving that "loneliness", I've always preferred to spend time with my imagination, drawing, playing with my toys and giving them stories, and that feeling have turned into passion, in which I knew from a very young age that that's what I wanted to do someday: Bring these emotions to people and talk to them through stories and creativity.
Growing up, people saw this "dream" I had as a joke, and for a long time I believed in them, so much that I tried to follow my father's will, which was to be a business man, become a leader and run his business, which I never really liked, but had a deep respect for. In classroom, It wasn't any different, as I wasn't that typical teenage archetype, and was constantly teased and mocked, being the "weirdo". During this time, around 15 years old, I was diagnosed with ADHD (which wasn't taken seriously until later, when I was 23) and due to that, I have failed twice during high school and developed a long list of selfsteem/emotional issues, to the point I started thinking about suicide.
But fortunately, I have met a few people who were there for me, and helped through this phase. People who still are in my life today. Together, we joined an Acting/Theater Workshop, where I stayed for 3 years, creating a deep bond to many talented "weirdos" like myself, and for the first time, I felt normal and accepted. I developed my communication skills and shyness, traveled through cities and events presenting plays, telling stories, making people laugh and that felt so rewarding that I'm almost in tears just by writing
For years, that dream I had to work with Animation, was hidden, locked away. I wouldn't start drawing again until past my 21 years old, which was when my father abruptly passed. After a long, hard period grieving, I felt like pushing the "reset button". Starting over wondering what I was going to do and who I wanted to be, I had the chance to reconnect to my past self, and unlock that kid inside of me, and that passion for creating stories for animation has started burning in me again.
During 2018 to 2022, I have been chasing this dream again. I've joined the Belas Artes University and got a degree in Animation, and since then, I have been looking for the chance to be inside this industry that has directly made me who I am today. And this time, I want to be the one making the stories, helping those who feel unwanted, talking to those who just want to be understood, bring emotions to families, outscasts, weirdos, and everyone who loves this animation universe as much as I do.
Today, I know that to be weird is good. It means we're originals, It means we have something that the "normal ones" don't have, and we're not afraid to show it.
