Biography
I'm a Senior Character & Creature Animator with over eight years of professional experience across VFX, feature film, episodic, AAA cinematics and motion capture.
I've worked at studios including Industrial Light & Magic, Framestore, DNEG and REALTIME, contributing to projects such as Jurassic World Rebirth, Napoleon, The Marvels, Star Wars: The Acolyte, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, The Matrix Resurrections, Detective Pikachu, Alita: Battle Angel and ABBA Voyage.
My animation experience covers keyframe character and creature animation, body mechanics, facial animation, acting and performance, motion-capture editing and cleanup. I'm comfortable taking animation from an initial brief or performance reference through blocking, refinement and final delivery, with a strong focus on weight, physicality, appealing posing and believable character performance.
At ILM, I worked across a wide range of character and creature projects and spent around a year on ABBA Voyage, focusing heavily on facial and motion-capture animation. More recently, at REALTIME, I worked as a Senior Cinematics Animator on a AAA game project, creating and refining cinematic performances using motion-capture and facial animation.
I originally trained in animation through a BA (Hons) Animation degree before completing Animation Mentor's Character Animation Program. I've also undertaken specialist games animation training through Animation Mentor, covering areas such as locomotion, animation cycles, combat actions and transitions.
Alongside production, I've always enjoyed helping other animators develop. I volunteered as an Animation Mentor tutor for several years and also took part in ILM's Buddy Program, supporting and mentoring artists joining the studio.
Although much of my professional career has been in high-end VFX and cinematics, the thing that interests me most has always been character animation itself: creating performances that feel physical, believable and full of personality. I'm particularly interested in opportunities where I can bring that experience into character-driven VFX, cinematics or games while continuing to broaden my experience in real-time and interactive animation.
