Biography

I was born in Ukraine and after moving through the whole Soviet Union breaking apart my family settled in Germany.

I have been working as an artist since my teenage years (thanks to all the free time I got from being the least popular kid at school and no need for sleep). This lead to me having published comic books at age 16.

The wildly winding path has taken me to many different places since. I spent many years in video games, from making my own in Flash (remember Flash?), to classic point&click adventures and mobile games.

After many years of experience in free to play mobile games I was ready to leave this industry for good and went full time freelance in 2020.

Since then I have been doing mostly storyboards, with some illustration jobs inbetween. This year I am most busy with a graphic novel adaptation of a romance novel.

I don't care that much what medium I work for, more about the story, emotional value and message it has. If my paid jobs can't provide that, I am trying to create my own content that is funny, relatable and empowering.

My greatest passion is creating and maintaining an artist community. We have started our local small "tribe" called Sunday Sketching Collective several years ago and it helped strengthen friendships and grow new ones. In 2021 we started renting a shared studio space. I hope to grow the collective into a proper studio so that we can create meaningful work together.

Communications Design

I studied communications design thinking that I would work in design/advertising... Only to realize that I hate most of it. But the studies were diverse and I am grateful that I could try many fields.
