Welcome! My name is Nomin Ochir. I am a story artist and RMCAD honors graduate, with a BFA in 2D Animation. As a person, I have a strong work ethic that is sustained by my growth mindset and good time management skills. Experimenting with ideas and receiving feedback makes me feel both challenged and fulfilled. I thrive when I’m a part of a creative team, since I love brainstorming together and working towards a way to tell the best version of a story.

Coming from Mongolia where the animation industry is poorly developed, I became curious about the production of animated films and television series. The concept of an entire team of creative individuals contributing their skills and experiences to tell a compelling story inspired me to pursue storyboarding. The stories I am drawn to and strive to create are genuine, relatable, and character-driven. Over the years I experimented with traditional mediums and digital programs, familiarized myself with figure drawing, editing, and expressive acting. Through my academic experience at RMCAD and personal mentorship under DreamWorks storyboard artist Stephanie Ma Stine and Netflix storyboard artist Claire Morrissey, I was fortunate to improve my storyboarding knowledge and workflow. RMCAD recognized my efforts for outstanding academic achievement. Lastly, I am a member of several Discord communities that focus on supporting people of color in animation. I volunteered as a research assistant and panel host for the Asians in Animation External Relations team to provide access to industry education for Asian communities all across the globe.

My student experience with mentorships, volunteering, and my passion for storytelling makes me a reliable candidate for your next project!  I hope I will have the opportunity to contribute and grow my skills even further in a professional setting.
