Hi! My name is Niya, 25 years old from Sofia, Bulgaria. Until not so long ago I viewed art as just a hobby. In 2020 I graduated with a bachelors in Physics from the Univerity of Birmingham, UK, but I never lost my passion for drawing. I would go to the University's institute of art to copy the paintings they had and I joined the art club where I did my first life drawing sessions and connected with peers with similar interest towards painting. When I graduated I still didn't feel content and that's when I realized I want art to be more than just a pastime. I now wanted to make a career out of it. I discovered IDEA Academy's courses and enrolled to their Fundamentals of Visual Development course. I developed skills in anatomy and perspective, learned more about the importance of composition and lighting, and was introduced to character and environment design. After successfully finishing the course I got accepted to the Academy's Master level 1 and moved to Rome, Italy, to study on site. I look forward to bettering my portfolio and skills through this course and getting ready to join the professional world. I want to become a creature designer ideally, but am also interested in worldbuilding and storyboarding.
