NAOWAO is a Japanese/Taiwanese multidisciplinary digital artist and director working with various media such as 3D animation, mixed reality, installation, and film. Her works develop narratives of an altered world involving digital creatures evolved from the reflections of our time. Mask is one of her ongoing leading research, as well as Mythology and nature are her main inspirations. She explores the hybrid worlds of the physical and the virtual, blurring boundaries of reality and fantasy. Having graduated with a filmmaking degree, her works explore emotion in the digital storytelling format. She is currently based in Berlin.

Previous exhibitions and performances include Russia, Venice, Bangkok, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Valencia, and Toyko. She is an award-winning director at Vegas Movie Awards, New York Movie Awards, Tokyo International Short Film Fest, Montreal Independent Film Fest, and International Music Video Underground.
