Biography

Marisol Ocádiz León was born in Mexico City in 1987. She studied Art Teaching at Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, México. She learned painting at the New York Academy of Art and Art Students League in, USA. She also studied in the atelier of masters such as Santiago Carbonell, Rafael Rodriguez, Gustavo Villegas. She was selected in the Contigo en la Distancia programming of the cultural content for pandemic times, of the the Secretaria de la Cultura México (2020). She was part of the selection of the XXXVII National Meeting of Young Art (2017) in Aguascalientes, México. She has been an official selection of the Global Youth Film Festival in Lakshmipur, Bangladesh (2018) for a documentary Blind Pianist understands the art of painting through coffee 2018. She worked with her initiative The Coffee Portrait, Itinerant Art Project for to enhance the coffee culture with live painting from 2015 to 2019. She has been selected by the DRT Gallery as an emerging young artist, she was the winner of the Nine Urban Art contest (2013), she has had two solo exhibitions and participates in group exhibitions. She has also worked as an editorial illustrator, storyboard artist with Mr Woo and Humann Storytellers productions and as an art teacher.
