He studied graphic design at Estácio de Sá University in Rio de Janeiro, as well as drawing and art history, and is dedicated to the improvement and practice of drawing and illustration, which is currently his main profession. Influenced by the works of several artists, much of the stimulus came from the fact that he loved comics and cartoons. From his childhood he was drawing through studies and copies of the works of great masters including John Buscema, Craig Mullins, Frank Frazetta, Alex Ross, Mike Deodato Jr. and several other contemporary illustrators. From the beginning of his youth he had sketched and painted his first works in traditional media such as paintings, graphite drawings, and woodcut works, as well as other works of art. He knows the illustration digitally and begins his studies in the area, driven by his interest in technology combined with drawing and painting. He gained a lot of experience in digital illustration, concept art, editorial illustration; drawing, final art and coloring for comics. He has served for various advertising agencies, event companies, publishers, including Editora Abril - which he illustrated for label magazines, Marvel Entertainment and Upper Deck Company, participating with his illustrations on licensed products. He made the colorization of several comic pages of designers recognized in the international market. He has participated in several works and independent comics among them are Isolda - The Song of the Sword in which he was a colorist and illustrator and Gringo, the work of Wilson Oliveira published by Red Dragon. He also illustrated several national and intentional comic book covers and books. His trait, in addition to remembering illustrious artists Frank Frazetta, Alex Ross, Craig Mullins, Mike Deodato Jr., has a field of digital painting worthy of note, be it in black and white or color. In 2015, Marcos Martins was awarded the International New Media Art Award in the category '' Best Digital Painting ''. The award was made by the Polish gallery Werkbank Galerie & Werkstatt KozLowski. In 2017, Editora Abril publishes, in Mundo Estranho magazine, four pages of heroes and villains of the DC Comics universe, designed by Marcos Martins. Currently works in the traditional, digital and editorial illustration area, conceptual art and various works in the graphic design area.
