Born in Tokyo, Manami Yamada began her career at a major Japanese fashion e-commerce company after graduating from university. In 2016, she relocated to Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, upon marriage and joined the city hall, where she was involved in migration promotion and local revitalisation.

After completing her term, she continued to engage in town planning and now works in the hospitality industry at a traditional ryokan, Hanamurasaki. She also contributes to regional projects as a writer and supports local NPOs through community building and public engagement.
