Malachi Ellis is a talented, multidisciplinary Creative Producer. With superheroic ambitions, Malachi is actively seeking new roles in Production Management in all genres and mediums.

Biography

Malachi Ellis is a talented and multidisciplinary Creative Producer. He is an alumnus of Ryerson University’s Media Production Program. During his studies, Malachi worked on several productions, both personally and professionally. He has volunteered his time as a Production Assistant on several Canadian Film Centre (CFC) productions. He also directed, produced and co-wrote his thesis film, THE HERO’S ARTIST (2020), during his final year of study. Malachi is also a recent graduate of the OYA Emerging Filmmakers Program. Through the program, he was awarded Producer of the Year for co-producing the short film CONFESSIONS (2020). Post academics, Malachi has worked on various projects and companies in a variety of Production Management roles. In 2021, he was named Playback Magazine’s 10 to Watch. Recently Malachi was a participant in Kidscreen’s The Next Wave: Diverse Voices program. Throughout the program, he received mentorship from Cort Lane, Marvel’s former SVP of Animation & Family Entertainment. As a Black gay man, Malachi feels a responsibility to produce fictional content that inspires others and pushes for authentic representation. He is always seeking to foster professional relationships with other LGBT+ & BIPOC creatives. Malachi is currently a Production Coordinator at Entertainment One in their Family Brands department working on various Animated projects. However, you can find Malachi in spare time making gorgeous latte art, reading a comic-book, or continuously recolouring his Google Calendar
