I am originally from India and I moved to San Francisco to pursue my dreams as an artist and express my voice to the world. I am also passionate about roller coasters, trekking and deep sea diving. I believe it is essential to do what feeds the soul and create something purposeful and entertaining. I am passionate about designing unique, researched and diversified concepts. My previous background design/painting experience, visual development internship, freelance as an illustrator and personal film projects have given me experience in storyboarding, developing backgrounds and layouts, props and working on Tv series, films and Children’s books. My Women in Animation mentorship has also led me to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of a production timeline and collaborating and working in a fast-paced production team while voicing my individuality. I also have experience using 3D softwares in my workflow that helps me build,block and generate multiple views of my sets and backgrounds correctly and quickly. I love being around people, communicating and collaborating to build a community and a place of trust to create something real and warm. I wish to bring more diversity, an outside voice and an unfiltered and un-orientalised perspective of where I come from. I respect different religions and their history/legends/mythologies and feel they need to be represented in its purest form. I love researching and getting into depth of representation and finding the true meaning and importance of adding something as a narrative element in a background/ prop or set design. I also come from a place of an oppressed past as a woman and an uninvolved childhood and feel I could contribute to the story and experience even if it is in small ways since details can really communicate big things effectively and influence kids and a community. It would also help similar women and kids to discover their meaning and journey in life.
