Biography

My name is Kiralee, I'm based in Sydney, Australia and I'm about to graduate from my bachelor of 3D Design & Animation. My obsession with art and animation started when I was about four years old; I watched animated movies almost every day, was drawing characters nonstop, and was living through my imagination everywhere in-between. I used to make funny iMovies as a hobby but soon discovered stop motion animation. Starting off my animation career early, I created claymations on my iPad when I was in primary school. Filling in my school books and sketchbooks with drawings of book characters, movie characters and some of my very own characters, I kept on growing my skills. It was in 2014 that I received my first Wacom tablet, I haven't looked back since! Purchasing the early version of Toon Boom, I got into making 2D animations. I'd spend the quiet hours after school at home with exploring the possibilities of digital art and animation. I finally got to learning both 2D and 3D animation to a professional standard in 2018-2019 at TAFE. Doing a certificate 3 in digital animation while in my last two years of school, I decided it would be a mistake to not do a 2D animation for my HSC MajorWork. After long hours of animating on Adobe Animate and one sore wrist later, I completed my three-minute 2D Animation MajorWork "Camouflaged Commotion". What was even more exciting was I wanted to do it all again afterwards! I knew 2D animation was what I wanted to pursue. Fast forward to me now: an intern at Cheeky Little, a freelance character designer/2D animator and a storyteller through my socials in my spare time. As I begin to fulfil my dream to be a 2D animator or storyboard artist, I hope that through this Career Camp that I'll be able to challenge myself and keep learning. If you're looking for an enthusiastic animator/storyboarder who loves nothing more than to talk about story & character, then let's get in touch! [email protected]
