My passion for creating art from a young age, led me on a path of trying to improve my skills and learn more. Studying fine art during school I started to research how I can improve my skills by watching artists online sharing tutorials and Timelapse’s of the work. Eventually I discovered the world of concept art, it was the perfect blend of being able to create original ideas and brining them to life, as well as having to be technically proficient to clearly communicate these ideas. After leaving secondary school I spent the last 2 years taking online courses, reading books and watching behind the scenes documentaries of films and games. I started from the very beginning and studied the fundamentals such as colour theory, composition, perspective and value. Initially I started studying at the watts atelier online for a few months before proceeding to learn more about anatomy with prokos’ in depth anatomy course. I then studied at Art school for digital artists (lead by Marc Brunet) where I further developed my fundamental skills as well as learning about actual character design. I still understand that I have so much more to learn and that what I have learnt up until this point is just the tip of the iceberg. I am constantly trying to improve my skills in anyway possible as I understand that the process of learning is one that will be with me throughout my entire career . This is why I am looking for a concept art internship as I believe the best way to learn is through experience (of course when it’s aided by independent studying).
