Biography
My name is Khadija Cherad and I want to pursue my ambitions of being a great storyteller through my art.
I started my journey into art by stumbling into a book store as a kid and after picking up the art book for James Cameron's Avatar, I have been hooked by the world of concept art ever since. Since then, I have been a self taught artist and refined my skills by practicing on various art programs like Paint Tool Sai and Clip Studio Paint, before school work demanded I advance even further by creating illustrations and graphic work on Photoshop and Illustrator.
I am currently finishing my last year in comic and concept art at Leeds Arts University so not only does this position align with my education and experience, but your company has been a massive influence for my decision to become a concept artist and focus on learning how to make amazing conceptual work through programs such as Blender and Zbrush. The Sony company has helped create some of my favourite franchises, including the Spiderman series, Terminator and Hotel Transylvania. I am a big advocate for taking risks and promoting stories that push boundaries and inspire people across all demographics, which was why I was really inspired to join this career camp!
It is my philosophy that only through introducing new perspectives for storytelling and encouraging new techniques can we ensure that the film industry continues to evolve and grow. As a North-African artist I have made a point of making sure that diversity in design and storytelling is at the core of what I make.
Having done a variety of work through university and freelance commissioned pieces, I have a good and thorough experience of what it is like to work in a team and under others guidance. As well as having gained amazing experiences with work in student government, I worked alongside other students to aid in art exhibitions for upcoming local conventions such as ThoughtBubble and more.
