My name is Karla. My family and I emigrated to the US when I was 8 years old from Juchipila, Mexico. From a young age, I dreamed of storytelling, as this was the only way I could get lost in fantasy and forget all the struggles I was currently facing. Seeing how my mind could escape in movies and tv series, I yearned to somehow be part of the magic of making them. Twenty-something years later, here I still am. I am the first in my family to graduate from college and first to get a job at a studio. I interned in development and I’m current analyst for strategic Sourcing at Sony Pictures. I am also a Gold Rising alumni.
