Biography

Hello! My name is Kaitlin, and I am a 3D Environment Artist. I love creating unique and elaborate worlds, somewhere the player can be fully immersed. Currently, I am working on a recreation of part of a map from my favourite game: Apex Legends. This project will be part of my demo reel, soon to come in March 2022. This past year I have been honing other aspects of game design at Vancouver Institute of Media Arts - creating everything from character sculpts and weapons, to concept art and custom textures. While at VanArts, I also produced a small indie game, "Light Seeker". Games play an important role in my life - teaching me strategies and critical thinking, providing a space for fun, and allowing me to connect with friends and family over distances and time zones. I've been asked many times what my favourite game of all time is - the answer is simply that I have too many! ... Okay, it's Zelda Twilight Princess. No, WindWaker. No... TWILIGHT PRINCESS. REGARDLESS, I have new favourites that enter my beloved collection all the time! What ties all of my favourite games together is that they have thoughtful, interesting, and memorable stories - whether that be character backstory, the main mission story, or just the narrative that can be created during co-op play - that's the joy that I find and want to create in games.
