My core competences bridge the technical and creative aspects of cameras and characters in a cg environment. This includes creating editorially sound sequences with full cg cameras,  creatively changing tracked cameras to match edit reference, and in depth knowledge of the interface between cg and the physical world that is needed in matchmoving. 

 

Some key professional knowledge and skills

• Creation of full CG camera moves and camera polishing for continuity and performance.
• Offsetting matchmoved cameras and associated assets to create screen space.
• Conforming cameras, objects and characters to match edit reference by reframing and retiming.
• Joining and extending camera matchmoves to create seamless continuous camera motion.
• First pass animation of CG characters (IK and FK), assets and cameras.
• Creation of proxy geometry
• Breaking out previs scenes for passing to animation with correct timeline and correct world space needed for shot prep.
• Set dress & layout of assets using scatter and instancing systems.
• Knowledge of real world cameras – including lens aberrations,  distortions and image defects  such as rolling shutter / motion blur / focus pull
