Biography
I am an animation student who is originally from El Paso Texas. I grew up in El Paso and knew I wanted to do animation since high school, but had limited options being in a small city in Texas. I decided to go to college at the University at El Paso (UTEP) and major in art with a concentration in drawing, still in that pursuit to work in the animation industry one day. During my time at UTEP, I learned a great number of fundamentals and continued to center my drawing projects around animation to try and build a portfolio. After 3 years of studying at UTEP, I felt that I was ready to start my journey in working in the animation industry. I applied to a University in Burbank California, Woodbury University, and got accepted into the animation program. I got a lot of backlash from my family for making this decision. Dropping a large amount of money to live in LA and chase my dream, my family was not very supportive of my decision, but I knew it was right for me. I had saved up from working 2 jobs in Texas and moved to LA all on my own to study animation. I transferred to Woodbury excitedly as I felt that I was just a little bit closer to my dream. Since then, my skills have improved tremendously and I have created pieces that I am so proud of, including my senior film and other projects. I continue to grow my skills in and out of school and am extremely passionate about creating art that can inspire others. It would be my dream to create stories that are impactful enough to change the lives of others and make them feel understood. Ultimately, my goal is to empower young artists and inspire them through my art.
