Biography
Born in Quito, Ecuador, Jessica grew up with a special interest in drawing, at 11 she won a creativity contest organized by Nestlé, which allowed her to travel to another city to visit a cookies factory, after that thanks to her mom's support she started to take painting lessons during 2 years. After highschool, at 17 she applied to the only arts university in Ecuador located in Guayaquil (Universidad de las Artes aka University of the Arts) for the visual arts program but because of financial reasons she couldn't go. She got in the insitute of visual arts where she studied graphic design, although it was not what she truly wanted it allowed her to take a few drawing classes. In 2019 she changed her major to Media Production at UDLA with a scholarship. The techniques and abilities she learned combined with her creativity and previous experience, shaped her current ambitions and objetives in the animation industry. On the past few years she's been learning about how to take the most of the opportunities out there for aspiring artists from latin america, using the internet as a tool by taking online courses, watching tutorials, seeing other people's artwork, joining communities and participing in online events.
