In the 2nd grade, I made a comic about a family day at the park that was selected for a book fair event at my elementary school. The story was read to various classrooms and that was the first time I ever saw anyone other than me react kindly to my work. It was then I wanted to do that again, to make people smile with my art. Since then, I made more comics, featuring my favorite characters, friends, and locations. Eventually the absolute reign of obsessions with cartoons like Danny Phantom, Xiaolin Showdown, and My Life as a Teenage Robot led to my interest in animation anda desire to make something impactful.

I decided to study screenwriting to improve my storytelling (also shamelessly and partly inspired by one of my favorite characters ever who is a writer herself). I don't think I would've done it any other way. I still drew and made comics almost everyday in college. But, I figured something else out: you can draw AND write stories for animation too! While focusing on TV animation writing, I learned about storyboarding and I felt the pieces of my life come together in a way I hadn't felt before. It was amazing to take an idea from scratch into fruition with not only my own hands, but also with the wonderful people I've had the chance to collaborate. I got to see stories come alive anew.

Working in graphic design, conventions, and freelancing for a while now, that sentiment persists. I want to create things that make people happy. I want to host something that people make friends over. I want to be a storyteller!
