Hello! Nice to meet you! My name is Jennifer Wirick! I am a storyboard artist seeking out new and fun projects. I am always eager to grow and expand my horizons.

Biography

When I was but a wee lass of six I became invested in art. I wanted to draw cartoons, I wanted to tell stories. Make people laugh and cry. I spent my youth fervently drawing as much as I could, eager to improve. Fast forward to 2013 where I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a focus in comic book art. I learned many things at SCAD, one of which is that I absolutely do not enjoy drawing comics. An unfortunate discovery as I had dedicated my studies to that specific subject. I was much too late and invested in my studies to change majors. And while trudging through my days I found a spark of an interest through one of my required classes. Storyboarding. A previous unknown occupation and style I had never before encountered. It was great! I could use what I had already learned from my major while still learning about a whole new field. And so I switches majors, without actually switching majors. In 2017 I graduated with a BFA in Sequential art and fell into what I like to call "Post-college oh my god what do I do now I need an adult but I am an adult?" In a fit of desperation I moved to Florida and got a restaurant job while doing freelance work on the side. It was subpar to say the least. During this time I continued to study and take courses from art academies and other sources. I did not want to give up on my storyboard dreams without doing everything I could to improve. Even while the world was doing it's best to beat me down. In 2021 I saw the fruits from my efforts. I got to work on some really cool projects like for an animated pitch product and a for a visual novel video game. I made it to the final rounds of the Netflix Trainee Program. I was accepted into a Women in Animation Mentorship. And finally, FINALLY, I got to quit my restaurant job to work as a board artist for a storytime youtuber. So many small steps happened. But, I am still greedy. I have tasted success and I want more. I can still improve. And there are still so many cool projects out there. And I can't wait to be a part of them!
