
Biography
Jenna is a marketing & communications professional in the animation industry, working towards a future in show development and creation.
Currently the Sr Marketing Manager at WildBrain Studios, Jenna Spearing started at Nerd Corps Entertainment as a Marketing Coordinator, where she learned the ropes of creating and sustaining a successful global brand working on Slugterra for several years. During her 7 years of increasing responsibility at Nerd Corps turned DHX Media turned WildBrain, she has helped create pitch materials for most new animation projects in Development, overseen the creation of marketing & support materials for original animated IP, worked with stakeholders and clients to provide the assets they need to successfully launch a show, led studio communications and marketing strategy, and managed social media and YouTube pages for animated brands. She has worked on series such as Snoopy in Space, The Snoopy Show, Chip and Potato, Dorg Van Dango, Johnny Test (new seasons for Netflix), Polly Pocket, Rev & Roll, Mega Man: Fully Charged, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Deep, Kate & Mim-Mim, and more series that have yet to be announced.
Previously, Jenna worked in internal communications, and studied creative writing at the University of Victoria, where she held volunteer editorial positions on multiple journals. Her short stories and creative essays have been shortlisted for multiple prizes by Canadian literary journals and published in Grain and QWERTY.
Jenna is a track chair of Marketing & Communications for Women in Animation (WIA) Vancouver, and is also taking Illustration and Fine Arts Continuing Studies courses from Emily Carr University. She is currently participating in WIA's Mentorship Circle on Development & Career Paths in Kids & Family.
