My name is James Ahere, and I am a Co-founder of Weza Interactive Entertainment, a Kenyan based video game studio. I am a lawyer with about 5 years' experience within the Interactive media space, with additional training in Biz Dev, Marketing and Brand communication. I have had a deep connection for the arts since I was a little boy. I always loved seeing people exude freedom, creativity and passion while they perform or express their artistic work. I personally love to dance, its one of my greatest talents actually, though I am a bit rusty right now to be honest. My lifetime goal is to contribute to the advancement of the African continent to its former position as the first world. There is so much rich history here, from our languages, our art, philosophy, values, cultural practices and beautiful landscapes, there's so much to share. I want to tell that story, and I believe with the digital disruption taking place in Africa right now, a lot of positive information can be shared about who we are, our identity, our goals, our dreams, our capacity to chart the future. I co-founded Weza Interactive Entertainment so that we could empower the youth of Africa to live beyond their ancestors' wildest dreams. I want them to know that their dreams are valid, and that they have the potential to actualize them. We are doing this by telling the African story, innovating, knowledge sharing , providing support structures that empower, and creating jobs. Our motto is "Huku Weza tunaweza!", its swahili for "Here at Weza we can do it!" I want to be an inspiration in people's lives, that as long as they believe in themselves, work hard, stay consistent and align with the right people ,then there's no limit to what they can achieve.
