Biography
I am a first-generation immigrant of Nigerian parents. I spent most of my childhood moving between African countries and North American states. This allowed me to grow accustomed to the vast array of human experiences, tongues, and faces that exist in the world. However, every time I looked at the TV screen I primarily saw peach-toned faces and stories splayed across every channel I had access to. The occasional person of color I did see fit into a specific stereotype that I couldn't relate to. This led me to believe that certain roles in life were not meant for people with brown skin like mine.
I’ve made it one of my many goals to tell stories where color is an accent to a human and not an identity. As a current student at Vancouver Film School, I have learned how to use concept art to be a better storyteller. As I continue to grow, I hope to be a positive advocate and contributor to portraying POC characters as molds of nothing but their personalities, interests, and experiences.
