Hello, it's Hélder here! I'm a 2D artist based in the north of sunny Portugal. 

In the past, I've worked as a freelancer, where I illustrated 4 books and another one in colaboration and as motion designer in a design studio where I did storyboarding, style frames, and animation both 2D and 3D. Now my goal is to get deeper in the animation and video game industry, working for studios or clients that focus mainly on that.

I consider myself a creative person and, a passionate storyteller, a trait that runs in the family. My earliest memories are from my grandfather telling me stories while he was on the job as a railway pointsman. I'm always hearing from my parents that, as a baby, they had to come up with stories so that I would eat my food. Just clearing things up, I don't need it now, only as a baby! As you can see, telling stories is a big part of who I am.

I love to make people laugh and have a good time. If I could only do one thing forever, that would be it. Helping people forget the frustrations of daily life and dive head first into a different universe and enjoy a good moment is what makes me happy.

I love to play with light in my work. I carry my camera pretty much everywhere, to catch different scenarios where the light interacts with the world around me and changes the mood throughout the day. I like to think of light as a character that is always present and sets the whole mood. Like that person at the party who is the soul of the party, or the mood killer. Another big part of my work is storyboarding, if telling stories is fun, drawing them, is perfect!

Like a good introvert, I like to have my alone time to recharge, whether it's drawing, riding my bicycle exercising outdoors, or riding my motorcycle through the mountain roads. But being with my family, my girlfriend, hopefully, one day wife, and my dog Lola, is one of the things I most enjoy in life.
