Hannah Manikowski is a Georgia-born, nationally recognized writer/director who holds a BFA in Directing from the School of Drama at Carnegie Mellon University. Hannah loves women in both the lesbian sense and the feminist sense, and she especially loves crafting narratives by, for, and about them. She is a 2020 O'Neill finalist, the winner of the 2018 - 2019 Judith Barlow Prize, and is also a proud alumna of The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals, Horizon Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival, and the inaugural Tepper Semester Playwriting Program. Her most recent work, The Sunrise from the Moon, has upcoming readings through both San Francisco Playhouse and the MACH 33 Festival (a collaboration between Pasadena Playhouse and CalTech). The world premiere of her play, Compensation, is scheduled for February 2021 through Island City Stage in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Since the start of the COVID-19 lockdown, Hannah has discovered that the connection, humanity, and wonder she previously found through theatre, she is now enjoying through animation and gaming. As a conservatory-trained director/playwright, Hannah has a keen eye for narrative married with an obsession with collaborative story-building -- and she's ready to translate these skills to the digital realm.
