Biography
Gina is a 3D/2D artist with experience working in the VFX industry as a digital matte painter.
Born and raised in Sacramento, California, she spent most of her childhood indoors drawing, watching anime, and playing games. She majored in Studio Art at the University of California, Santa Cruz, a beautiful campus nestled in a redwood forest overlooking the Pacific Ocean–and fun fact, our school mascot is the banana slug! While she was a student there, she studied abroad in London, U.K., and Paris, France which was an absolutely wonderful experience and inspired her to return to London to obtain her Master’s degree in Computer Animation at Kingston University.
Gina has worked as a digital matte painter for MPC in Montreal, Canada. She worked on several films and shows with clients including Netflix, Warner Bros, and Disney.
What she loves about 3D is the community. The people she’s met in her 3D journey have all been so kind and supportive. She has participated in the Women in Animation - Mentorship program, the Technicolor Creative Studios Academy program, and is looking forward to being a part of the THU community!
