2D Lead Animator, FX Artist and Director - CEO of Underdogz Animation Studio

Senior

I’m a 2D Lead Animator, FX Artist, and Director blending comic energy with high-end animation to create bold stories and mentor emerging talents.

Biography

I’m a 2D Lead Animator, FX Artist, and Director with a background that spans comics, illustration, and international animation. I started my career as a comic book artist, exhibiting in York, at BILBOLBUL, and at the MAR Museum in Ravenna alongside artists like Zerocalcare, Shout, and Carlos Latuff when I was just fifteen. In those early years, I self-published several comic volumes with illustrators such as Sara Colaone and Alessandro Baronciani, and produced a two-volume series for Karman, printed in four languages.

After working as a storyboard artist for the band Therion and creating numerous covers for metal groups and board games for Scribabs, I shifted my focus toward animation. My short films have won several awards, earned over a hundred festival selections worldwide, and have been shortlisted at both the BAFTA and the Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

I’ve collaborated with major studios including Disney, Netflix, Prime Video, and Xilam on animated series such as The Cuphead Show, Hazbin Hotel, and Lupin’s Tales. I also worked as a freelancer for studios like Adult Swim, brands like Heineken and artists like Tha Supreme. Teaching is another part of my journey: I’ve taught advanced animation at NABA, Acca Academy, IDEA Academy, and in Toon Boom’s online programs, where I’m occasionally invited to train future instructors.

In my personal work, I focus on original film and animation projects. My latest and most ambitious project, Rossoman (supported by MIFA Annecy and Kickstarter) has successfully completed two campaigns, resulting in a 156 page comic book and an animated short currently in production. The project is intended to grow into a full animated feature.

In 2024, I founded Underdogz: an independent animation studio designed to support young animators entering the industry and to develop original animated films driven by bold ideas and strong visual identity.
